Proud runners-up in 2017

The Rixton-with-Glazebrook Indoor Bowling team finished runners-up in the Cheshire Villages Indoor Bowling Tournament for 2017.

The mixed team of men and women only lost one match in the League all season. In the quarter-final they beat Guilden Suttton 9-5 and in the semi-final they managed to beat near neighbours Croft by just one point to reach the final against Lach Dennis.

Lach Dennis are considered a very strong side, but our local bowlers gave them a cracking match, only losing out by the narrowest of margins. Team captain Neil Trownson said: “All the team played well and this was our fourth final and fourth time as runners up since the League started some twenty years ago. Let’s hope we can go one better in 2018.”
