Parish News – Dec 2022

This Rixton-with-Glazebrook Parish news booklet is produced by the Community Plan Group to help update residents on news, events and who to contact for community group activities, local facilities and council services.   Click here  to read or download the pdf below.

It’s great to see the level of community activity that is once again taking place in the Parish, especially at the refurbished Community Hall.  Since the last edition in June, Friends groups in the community have hosted several successful fun events including Afternoon Teas, Parish Carnival, Jubilee celebrations, Discos and a Barn Dance.

Without doubt the level of volunteering engagement is what makes the Parish so vibrant, provides activities for all, and gives people a strong sense of community.  If you are at that phase in your life when you are considering doing a few hours of volunteering then look no further to offer your help.  Whatever your age there are opportunities for you to get involved, whether for the Village Shop, Community Hall, Friends of the Cemetery, Community Plan Group, the recently formed Friends of Glazebrook Station, Parish Carnival, or Scouts.  In fact the Scouts are currently in need of leaders for the Beavers section so they can offer activities for 6-8yr olds – see Scouts article for who to contact.  If any of these capture your interest then please get in touch with the groups direct (see centre page and Contacts page in the Parish News).

There has recently been a change of Parish Councillors – see the Councillor’s page in the Parish News .

Our thanks to the Parish Council and Hamilton Davies Trust (HDT) for the financial support they’ve given in support of the Parish community groups and churches this year and also to both for the funding and printing of this booklet.  Our thanks also to HDT for giving staff time in support to support of admin and publicity for several community groups within Rixton-with-Glazebrook.
