Rixton-with-Glazebrook Parish Council

Rixton-with-Glazebrook is a civil parish in the unitary authority of Warrington, Cheshire, England. It lies to the east of Warrington and borders with Cadishead and is largely farmland. It has a railway station at Glazebrook and is served by buses along the A57 road.

The Parish Council is the tier of Local Government closest to the people and is a corporate body, a legal entity. There are seven council seats, four for Rixton and three for Glazebrook with council elections taking place every four years. The next tier of Government for Rixton with Glazebrook is Warrington Borough Council (WBC) and there are three Borough Councillors serving this ward.

The Parish Council is an elected body that plays a vital part in representing the interests of the communities it serves, through improvements within the local environment and the well being of its parishioners. Each Councillor is required by law to sign a disclosure form and must respect all legal aspects of government that relate to each issue they may deal with in the course of their duty. 

Parish Council meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (except August and December) 7-9pm at the Community Hall, Hollins Green.

Parish Councillors attend the WBC Resident’s Surgeries alongside the police at St. Helen’s Church House, Hollins Green from 10.30am – 11am.
