iTea and Biscuits
iTea and Biscuits is a course that offers learners hands on experience to develop their digital skills and confidence with the help and support of IT mentors.
The course aim to help local people get to grips with IT and technology whether they’re a silver surfer, a total beginner, or simply want to polish up on some of their online skills. Sessions are helpful and fun and cover subjects including:
- How to get online
- BBC iplayer and TalkTalk TV
- Digital photography
- Advice on buying a computer
- Internet security
- Job search and training online
- How to setup and use email
- Internet shopping and banking
- Devices: Mobile phones, iPads, Kindles, etc
- Social Media
Structured to suit all age groups and abilities, the course provides a short presentation followed by practical hands on experience with one-to-one coaching (where possible) from volunteers.
Held at Hamilton Davies House, each course runs for eight weeks with sessions generally lasting two hours and includes of course tea and biscuits.
iTea and Biscuits is run by Hamilton Davies Trust and supported by a variety of volunteers from TalkTalk, Kingsland Wines, Marks Memorials, Broughton Database and local people.
