Friends of Glazebrook Station (FROGS)
Friends of Glazebrook Station (FRoGS) are a community volunteer group formed in July 2022. Their aim is to bring the station back to life by transforming the look of the station platforms and surrounding land, making it a much more welcoming and pleasant space for the local community and rail users alike.
Current projects include:
- Planters and hanging baskets for the platform areas
- Maintenance of the public footpath behind the station
- Clearing an overgrown area behind the station to add planting
- Restoration of the original water basin dating from 1872
- Installing a commemorative bench
- Heritage boards
Monthly action days are held, but our volunteers are welcome to go to the Station whenever they want to.
There is always something to do!
They also hold quarterly group meetings to keep everyone updated.
FRoGS are reliant on grants, fundraising events and donations from their supporters and volunteers.
They are always keen to welcome new volunteers. If you are interested in joining the friendly group please contact Julie Eastty for more details on [email protected] or 07979 266352.
