Light at the end of the tunnel!

The Shine the Light group are delighted to announce that full planning permission has been granted by Warrington Borough Council for the insertion of 4 drive-over in-ground lights in the curtilage of the road surrounding the war memorial in Hollins Green. Extra white lines are also to be added to the road.

The group are waiting on full costs for the project after which grants will be applied for with the aim to complete by November 2018. Fundraising is still ongoing and has so far included several very successful talks and other events. The group are hosting a stall at the Station at War event at Irlam Station on Saturday 15th July where the approved plans, images and information on our Parish’s commemorated war dead will be available to view.
