A brighter welcome to the Parish!
Rixton-with-Glazebrook Community Plan Group volunteers armed themselves with hi-viz vests, brushes, mops, and hedge strimmers to tackle the overgrown and dirty road signs around the parish.
This was the 3rd sign cleaning action day the group has undertaken over the past 5 years and the parish certainly looks a lot more cared for and welcoming because of it, with visible, clean signage. ![]()
So many road signs around other districts are not maintained and hard to see or read to the point that they may as well not be there. The same cannot be said for Rixton-with-Glazebrook.![]()
During the action day volunteers were given several verbal thank-yous, thumbs up, or a beep from passers-by, pedestrians, cyclists and motor vehicles. The volunteers are always appreciative of this type of acknowledgement, but would do the task without any thanks as it gives them a great sense of pride in where they live.
What a difference they have made!
