Village Shop wins another Community Award
Hollins Green Community Shop staff and volunteers are proud and thrilled to have recently been awarded a Community Award by the Irlam and Cadishead Times for Customer Service Shop of the Year 2018.
The Village Shop was chosen by public vote to receive the special award, which was sponsored by Higher Irlam Social Club and presented at an awards evening. Yet again, this goes to show what a wonderful shop we have. The award was designed and made by students from Irlam and Cadishead College, who came up with a unique design that represented the Manchester Ship Canal and Chat Moss.
The shop team are excited to soon be stocking some new products to sell from Howarths Artisan Butchers, Flixton. If they are as good as the pork pie, then we are all in for a treat!
Following the previous year’s success the shop are once again offering a bespoke Christmas Hampers service. For a small fee customers can choose products, that best suit a family member or friend, from the shop’s gorgeous Christmas selection and the staff will assemble and dress the hamper. You can spend as little or as much as you like…what a great idea for a gift!
New for the shop is there 2019 calendar, which will be available to purchase from the shop and other local outlets in the run up to Christmas. Local businesses have kindly supported the calendar, which has been organised as another fundraiser to help raise money to keep the community shop open.
The shop still need more volunteers!
If you are interested in lending a hand – please pop into the shop for a chat with Manager Julie Atkinson or call 0161 775 7022.
